Installing a water filter under the sink
First, shut off the cold water line under the kitchen sink. The cold water have to be on the right side.
Open the faucet to drain the cold water that is in the line before the shut-off valve.
Place a small bucket or bowl under the cold water line below the sink to catch any leaking water. Then loosen the water connection with a wrench.
Insert one end of the black hose, which is also included in the kit, into the adapter and the other end into the filter. There are pictures on the back of the filter that show which tube to connect to which hose.
Connect the second adapter to the water shut-off valve. Push the black tubing coming from the filter to the shut-off valve.
Turn the water back on.
How to repair a garbage disposal
Check the electricity
First, make sure that electricity is flowing to the garbage disposal by checking the appropriate circuit breaker or fuse on the main electrical panel.
If the circuit breaker has tripped or the fuse has blown, reset or replace it, then turn it back on.
If you hear the disposal motor humming, immediately turn off the breaker, unplug it from the outlet (or turn off the circuit breaker/fuse), and go to step 2.
If power cannot be restored to the appliance in this manner, turn off the appliance wall switch, reach into the sink cabinet and press the overheat protection button on the bottom of the appliance (it will protrude down about 0.65 cm when tripped, and should be almost flush with the floor when properly set).
Flip the wall switch again. If the motor hums, turn off the switch and unplug it from the outlet. If the thermal overload cannot be corrected, consult a licensed electrician.
Release the blockage
Make sure the disposer is unplugged or the breaker/fuse is turned off.
Next, locate the recessed hexagonal hole in the bottom of the disposer.
Insert the supplied Allen wrench into the hole. If you cannot find the supplied wrench, you can also use a 0.65 cm. Allen key can be used.
Using the wrench, turn the disposer motor shaft counterclockwise and then clockwise until the obstruction is cleared and the motor shaft turns freely. It is okay to use some force while turning the key, just be sure to support the disposer while doing so.
Remove the wrench and connect the disposer (or turn on the circuit breaker/fuse).
Run water into the sink from the top and turn on the disposer. If it runs smoothly, you are done. If it does not turn on, make sure the thermal overload button is reset.
